Herbst LaZar Bell Inc Announces New On-Shelf Skin Care Analysis

Chicago, IL - Mirror, mirror on the wall ; imagine a new product that can tell you how to become the fairest of them all
Herbst LaZar Bell Inc (HLB), the company responsible for such diverse and widely recognized designs as the Motorola NFL Coaches Headset, the Mobile One Oil Bottle, and the Papermate Liquid Correction Pen, announced recently the launch of a new, interactive skin diagnostic device. The Dove Face Care Mirror is an oval-shaped mirror strategically placed on a retail shelf near the new line of Dove Face Care products. Designed for Dove and distributed through select mass retailers, this device uses consumer's input to analyze skin type and recommend a personalized face care regime.
Here's how it works: Walking down the aisle, the consumer is attracted to the vanity inspired shape of the mirror, gazes into the reflective glass, and responds to five simple and intuitive prompts, such as age, skin tone and reaction to various face care products. The mirror then analyzes the data and presents digital images of actual products for a recommended regime, as if by magic.
Dove, known worldwide as the beauty bar with one quarter moisturizing lotion, was new to the lucrative and highly competitive face care market, which includes products such as moisturizers, toners and SPF protective creams. Starting with a rock solid brand, Dove and HLB recognized that the choices for consumers in this category were overwhelming.
Consumers are faced with hundreds of choices with no time to make a decision, commented Anthony Pannozzo, Director of Design at HLB. Our goal was to attract their attention, provide a diagnostic service previously found only in expensive department stores, and then direct them to the appropriate Dove Face Care products. This mirror is simple and fun to use and the consumer walks away with the products they actually need.
The Dove Face Care Mirror represents the first-of-its-kind, interactive, digital, point-of-purchase display in this category. It is being launched on a regional basis only, with plans to expand to other areas in the next several months. Currently, the Dove Face Care Mirror can be found at CVS stores on the East Coast. HLB conducted the interactive research for this unique new product, as well as the unit design, engineering, and prototyping.
