Herbst LaZar Bell Inc Receives Two AM Excellence in Design Awards
posted by hdittmer at 10:05 PM
Chicago, IL - Herbst LaZar Bell Inc (HLB), the international product design consulting firm, announced recently that it has won two 2004 Excellence in Design distinctions, presented by Appliance Manufacturer (AM) magazine. The following products have received this year's AM recognition:
Stanley (formerly CST/berger) LaserMark LM1000/LM2000 Series, First Place, Test and Measurement Category
Belvedere Mirage Pedicare System, Runner-Up, Commercial Appliance Category
The LaserMark LM1000/LM2000 Series is a new line of automatic self-leveling rotary lasers, targeted to the professional contractor, according to HLB. Offering optimum versatility, these products are ergonomically designed for one-person leveling, plumbing and alignment. The bright red beam and variable rotation speeds ensure flexibility of use, with or without a detector, for both interior and outdoor construction work.
The Mirage Pedicare System combines modern design with advanced electronics and a proprietary circulation/sanitation system to create the salon and spa industry's first intelligent system for professional pedicures. This station reinvents pedicure service with a system that's both user-friendly for the customer and virtually self directed for the technician. The Mirage is the first spa pedicure station on the market today that combines advanced microelectronics with an on-board, automated disinfecting system.
According to AM, winning designs were selected by a panel of design experts on the basis of creativity, ease-of-use, and visual appeal. Entries were considered in numerous product categories, including commercial, computers, leisure, floor care, lawn and garden, home, medical, etc. This year's AM Excellence in Design event represents the seventeenth year this competition has been in existence. Winners will be featured in the May issue of AM magazine, and posted on the AM web site (www.AMmagazine.com).
